Storybooks & Quilts To Go
The Denton Quilt Guild has purchased children's storybooks with quilt-related themes. Guild member volunteers have made small quilts to complement each book. At present, the collection includes over 70 books for children. As additional titles are purchased and/or donated, corresponding quilts are designed and constructed by guild members. During the school year, the storybooks and quilts are loaned to local schools and libraries where teachers and librarians share them with students. During the summer, the collection is available for use by libraries, museums, and children's groups. This project is funded in part with the support of the Greater Denton Arts Council, the Arts Guild of Denton, the Texas Commission on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
