Our fundraising activities are fun ways to help support our guild activities and keep membership fees affordable. These efforts have included quilt raffles, selling guild pins, t-shirts & sweatshirts, tote bags, publication and sale of a guild cookbook, an artisan’s market, silent auctions, and giant 2-day surplus sales.
The guild participates in the Alternative Gifts Fair at Denton’s First United Methodist Church, which is open to the general public and includes many unique items for sale. (https://fumcdenton.com/agf) Our members make these wonderful items for the guild to sell throughout the year, both on their own time and at our First Tuesday Sew Days at the Green Valley School.

This year’s AGF is scheduled for Nov 6-8, 2026.

Our 2026 Surplus Sale was a tremendous success this year – providing extremely high quality fabrics, patterns, books, notions and even fully complete quilts to an eager community of buyers. This year’s new Friday/Saturday schedule proved to be very popular with both volunteers and shoppers. We even got noticed on TikTok, which brought in even more folks: Click to watch.
Our next scheduled Surplus sale is for late 2027 (Aug or Oct) – dates to be announced in early 2027.

In select years, several members of the guild work on our Raffle Quilt fundraiser. Once a quilt is completed, it travels to other guilds and city functions to promote the sale of raffle tickets. Ticket sales last throughout the year, and we draw the winning raffle ticket at a general meeting.
