I’m a curious modern quilter. In this trunk show I’ll share with you some of my favorite quilts and the inspiration behind their design and construction.
I’ll tell you the story of my first quilt: one that I made by accident, and the lessons that I learned by not knowing what I was doing. We’ll explore my love of cross blocks, constructed as a modified 9-patch, and the movement and sparkle that can be created by ‘tilting’ them, and playing with color and color value placement in their different positions.
Finally, I share quilts inspired by a curiosity to explore other quilting techniques: improv, foundation paper piecing, and pixilation.
I hope you’ll be inspired to dive deep into a favorite quilt block of you own or try a new quilting technique that you have not yet explored.
My quilts have been published in Curated Quilts, a quarterly journal of and for modern quilters, and have been juried into QuiltCon, the world’s largest modern quilt show, presented by The Modern Quilt Guild. My quilt, Sudoku, was awarded 1st place in the Small Quilts Category at QuiltCon2022. I’ve written and published quilt patterns of my own design, and deliver guild lectures, trunk shows and workshops to share my work and promote modern quilting.
