Quilts of Valor Bees
Both the Red, White, & Blue Bee and the Lone Star Broads Bee make Quilts of Valor (QOV) for local veterans of foreign conflicts.

The guild and the RWB Bee join quilters across the nation through the Quilts of Valor Foundation to create quality quilts to honor and comfort our North Texas veterans. If you wish to donate fabrics to Community Outreach in support of the QOV effort, please contact DQGOutreach@gmail.com. If you wish to know the requirements for making a QOV-qualified donation quilt, please visit the Quilt Requirements page on the QOVF site. While there, peruse the numerous free Quilt Patterns to get ideas on the quilt you'd like to make and donate.

Each year the guild works as a whole to make blocks that can be assembled into QOV quilts. The QOV 2020 block drive initiative is a simple Disappearing Nine Patch base. Pick up your sandwich bag kit of precut fabrics at the Community Outreach table during the guild meeting. Each kit is so easy, you'll want to dig into your own scraps and make even more. Turn in your finished blocks and others will assemble them. Link to or download the PDF of the simple instructions here.
